Nonprofit Purpose Statement

The purpose of this organization is to provide comprehensive educational and mental health–informed support services for children, youth, and adults. The organization offers STEM-focused after-school programming, academic tutoring, test preparation, college and career guidance, GED preparation, and social-emotional learning supports. In addition, the organization assists families in identifying and accessing community, school-based, and behavioral health resources to support children with emotional and behavioral challenges

Through an integrated, family-centered approach, the organization seeks to improve academic outcomes, promote emotional well-being, and increase equitable access to educational and support services in underserved communities.

Picoli Educational Services is a community-driven organization committed to empowering children, youth, and families through education, wellness support, and meaningful opportunities for growth. We believe every child deserves access to quality educational experiences, supportive mentorship, and resources that foster both academic success and emotional well-being. Our organization operates a comprehensive Education and Wellness Support Program designed to address the academic, social, and emotional needs of underserved communities. Through STEM-focused after-school enrichment, tutoring, college and career readiness initiatives, adult education, and family-centered wellness support, we help individuals and families overcome barriers and build brighter futures.  At Picoli Educational Services, we create safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environments where curiosity, creativity, leadership, and confidence can thrive. Our programs combine hands-on STEM learning, mentorship, academic support, and community engagement to inspire lifelong learning and personal development.

Our Approach

1-Year Expansion Plan (Year 1)

Goal: Stabilize operations, expand program capacity, and build the infrastructure needed for sustainable growth.

Program Expansion

● Increase enrollment in STEM-focused after-school programs, tutoring, and test
preparation by expanding service days and cohort size.
● Launch GED preparation and adult education programming with structured
curriculum and defined intake cycles.
● Formalize social-emotional learning (SEL) workshops and family resource
navigation services as core program offerings.
● Pilot fee-for-service options for test preparation and college guidance while maintaining subsidized slots for low-income families.

Staffing and Job Creation

● Hire or contract:
○ STEM instructors and academic tutors (part-time)
○ Program coordinator
○ Administrative and outreach support (part-time)
● Prioritize hiring educators and staff from the communities served.

Revenue and Sustainability

● Diversify revenue through a mix of grants, earned income (test prep, college guidance), and partnerships.
● Maintain annual revenue under $2 million while demonstrating steady growth and financial discipline.

Partnerships and Ecosystem Integration

● Establish formal partnerships with at least 3–5 Philadelphia-based schools,
community organizations, or faith-based institutions to serve as program sites
or referral partners.
● Build referral pathways with behavioral health providers, IBHS agencies, and
school-based support teams to strengthen family resource navigation.
● Engage with business support organizations and mentorship networks
connected to the Catalyst ecosystem.

Infrastructure and Systems

● Implement data tracking systems to monitor enrollment, attendance, academic progress, and family engagement.
● Standardize curricula, intake processes, and referral documentation.
● Strengthen financial management, compliance, and reporting systems to
support grant and contract funding.

Year 1 Outcomes

● Increased number of participants served
● Improved academic engagement and skill development
● Creation of new part-time and entry-level jobs
● Strong operational foundation for scaling

3-Year Expansion Plan (Years 2–3)

Goal: Scale impact across multiple neighborhoods, deepen partnerships, and establish long-term financial sustainability.

Program Scaling

● Expand programming to additional Philadelphia neighborhoods, prioritizing
underserved communities.
● Increase the number of after-school STEM cohorts and adult education cycles annually.
● Introduce advanced STEM enrichment tracks (e.g., coding, applied math,
science labs) aligned with workforce pathways.
● Expand SEL programming to include group-based youth and adult wellness
series

Workforce and Job Growth

● Transition key roles from part-time to full-time positions, including:
○ Program manager
○ Lead educator or curriculum specialist
○ Family resource navigation coordinator
● Increase the total number of instructional and support staff as enrollment
grows.
● Create internship and apprenticeship opportunities for college students and emerging educators.

Strategic Partnerships

● Formalize long-term agreements with schools, community centers, and
municipal partners.
● Collaborate with workforce development programs and employers to align
adult education and STEM programming with career pathways.
● Strengthen connections within Philadelphia’s business ecosystem to support cross-sector collaboration.

Innovation and Impact Measurement

● Refine data collection and evaluation tools to track academic outcomes,
program retention, and family resource utilization.
● Use data to continuously improve programming and demonstrate impact to funders and partners.
● Develop replicable program models that can be adapted for new sites or
partner organizations.

● Increase earned revenue through expanded fee-for-service offerings while
preserving equitable access.
● Secure multi-year grant funding and service contracts.
● Maintain responsible growth, ensuring revenue remains aligned with capacity and mission.
